91-Year-Old Lady Breaks Bungee-Jump Record (VIDEO)

Mary Manssen is a 91-year-old great-great-grandmother from New Zealand. She also happens to be the country’s oldest bungee jumper.

Manssen took up the activity after her husband Frank died seven years ago.

She told Stuff.com that she frequently saw the bridge she jumped off last week, Queenstown’s Kawarau Bridge, on fishing trips she took with Frank.

“There’s nothing to it,” Manssen, who went on to describe the jump as “magnificent,” told the website. She added that she showed pics of her jump to her local bowling club on Tuesday. “They were rapt. They couldn’t believe it,” she said.

Although she holds the New Zealand record, Manssen is not actually the world’s oldest female bungee jumper. That honor belongs to Finnish woman Margit Tall, age 96, who may agree with Manssen’s understated stance on bungee-jumping: “The busier you are, the happier you are.”
